In a crime that was shocking even by North Minneapolis standards and received worldwide attention, but was first written about by a "Facebook journalist" on North Vent, Devon D. Parker was accused of murdering "Good Samaritan" Thomas Sonnenberg and assaulting Sonnenberg's wife, click here for the criminal complaint.
The incident happened January 31, 2014. One year later, give or take a couple weeks, I figured it was about time to for an update on Parker...
Because of Parker's prior criminal history, MN DOC lists Parker as being "under supervision" at a "Non MN DOC facility," and notes "Hennepin Community Corrections has the case." The jail roster shows Parker sitting in jail, charged with second degree murder (Thomas Sonnenberg), sexual assault, (Sonnenberg's wife) and...
Oh, my word, what is THAT?
Here's the jail roster info, I will let it speak for itself.
TWO counts of sexual assault? I am not clear whether these are two separate acts (alleged) against Sonnenberg's wife or some other charge from some other incident. I guess all the awful facts will come out if a trial happens.
The roster shows Parker was "received" in January 12, 2015 so apparently Parker has bounced between the jail and, I would assume, a MN DOC facility. Wherever he's been, it must be said he seems to be eating well!
Your tax dollars at work.
And, well, Thomas Sonnenberg's tax dollars. May he rest in peace.
