Meranda Jean Erickson, who was present at the death of fugitive Landon J. Pederson at 2401 Ilion Ave. N., was facing a raft of serious charges as I reported back in mid-August.

Meranda Jean Erickson (DOB 2/11/84) was present at the recent homicide of fugitive Landon J. Pederson, whose last address was Swift County, Minnesota, but she is NOT charged in his death.

According to information from some good citizen in the neighborhood, which was forwarded to me by email, this morning there was a possible gas leak at 2401 Ilion Ave. N., the location of a recent homicide reported extensively here on JNS blog. The Minneapolis fire department and emergency crews from Centerpoint Energy and Xcel responded. JNS believes MPD was probably on the scene as well though that fact was not reported to me.

The house is reportedly empty since the arrest of the leaseholders after the recent homicide incident. One citizen, speaking well for all of us, wrote as follows:

An online petition has been circulating via email chain in regard to slumlord Mahmoud Khan, owner of the property at 2401 Ilion Ave. N. where a homicide took place recently.

This blogger would have written more about Meranda Jean Erickson, suspect in the shooting of DOC fugitive Landon J. Pederson, but I had to rush off to a meeting about Level Three Sex Offender concentration in North Minneapolis. A blogger's work is never done. JNS blog still had the name before any other media entity.

The female suspect in this morning's shooting on Ilion Ave. N. is Meranda Jean Erickson, DOB 2/11/84. Her address on the jail roster is 2401 Ilion Ave. N., which is the 2400 block, and so presumably the address where the shooting took place.

The man who died was Landon J. Pederson, a fugitive from Appleton, Minnesota. In the Star Tribune, a relative tried to cast Pederson as the hero and tragic victim of this incident, supposedly intervening in a domestic dispute...by kicking in a door and rushing upstairs.
