Mainstream media are reporting a suspect is in custody following a recent Northside shooting. Apparently it was just too much work for these mainstream media to spend ten minutes looking through the jail roster so the suspect could be named...
Edward Hubbard, who is listed on the jail roster as "Eddie" Hubbard, is the suspect. His address is listed as 2934 Girard Ave. N., and it turns out this address is owned by the very same Eddie Hubbard and is a homesteaded property.
I have looked, but have found no criminal record for this man in Hennepin County. There are people named Edward Hubbard who have relatively minor, mostly traffic related stuff. This may or may not be the same guy, but either way it doesn't add up to a hill of beans.
No bail has yet been set for Edward Hubbard.

Johnny, Do you know anything about Terrance Franklin - the guy killed in an altercation with cops at 27th & Aldrich S? I believe he was a Northsider. Choosing to be an armed burglar cost him his life at age 22.
I'd love to look into that, but it's Sunday (Mothers Day) and MNCIS is not working at the moment. I want to look up the guy's criminal cases and see if he lived at a 55411 zip code.
What else can you tell me about this guy?

The name "Ju-Chaun Marquis Ferguson" produces only one Google hit, which is (of course) the same article that identifies him as the victim. I find it hard to believe his name doesn't contain some kind of spelling error since it appears NOWHRE ELSE ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET and that's just hard to believe.
All I know about Terrance Franklin is what his girlfriend was quoted as saying in the Pioneer Press - that he'd been carrying a gun and made bad choices. She was WITH him in the car Southside when he was getting chased. I guess she doesn't make the best of choices either. I looked him up in MNCIS and he seems to have only one conviction (at least as an adult) - for burglary. Born May 1989.

There was momentary confusion in that regard. I have made corrections accordingly. There are literally so many homicides it is hard to keep them all straight.
