Stock photo, Moghul property, blog post by John Hoff
Lately some of us have been wondering if Bashir is just the world's most naive landlord, or does he pick and choose the (alleged and indicted) scum of the earth as renters?
Word comes via email of the latest no-account to find shelter in a Bashir Moghul property...
This report of an aggravated robbery went out over various listservs to which many decent folks in North Minneapolis subscribe, to keep track of crime patterns in our neighborhood. Note the address at the end of this report where the suspect, Johnathon Davis, 21, reportedly lives.

I wonder who owns 2938 Dupont Ave. N.? Well, let's click right here, go to the City of Minneapolis website, and find out.
Wow. It's Manzoor A. Moghul. But digging into the online history of the house shows it passed into the hands of Bashir Moghul, no surprise. When it's a "Moghul Monstrosity" property, we often find the names of other Moghuls listed, and this house falls right into the common pattern.
Once again, this blog cries out to city officials: revoke, revoke, revoke this man's rental license and, for that matter, investigate the actual facts of who has de facto control of these Moghul houses, no matter whose first name appears as owner. How much does the city spend in tax dollars because Bashir, Manzoor and the other Moghuls perform such lousy background checks or (you gotta wonder!) actually goes out of their way to fill our neighborhood with criminal no-account scum?

Where would you propose these people live? You can't expect everyone to be homeless. Affordable housing is a human right.
Dupont Deputy says: The piece of crap at 2938 Dupont should be torn down, as well as the drug dealer house on the back of the lot. In fact tear them both down with the assholes still living in there as well - kill 2 birds with one stone!

Regarding your question about where tenants like the one mentioned in this post should live.
I don't give a crap if a guy who robs people and implies he has a gun when doing so has a roof over his head or not. In fact, I'd just as soon gather up him and anybody else who figures its their right to victimize and steal from other people and launch them into orbit -good luck colonizing the moon, assholes! There are lots of people around here who go without and who don't have much, but most of them manage to live their lives in a way that doesn't hurt other people.
Affordable housing? Like he really cares. If it really mattered to him, he might be pounding the pavement with the rest of us looking for a real job, so he could afford better for himself rather than robbing people. And just on a side note, I hope to God this guy isn't an example of a rental situation where taxpayers are subsidizing his rent, as it seems often is the case with slumlord properties.
