The raid is "surprising" because the house...
...reportedly wasn't much of a problem as far as drug trafficking though apparently this house has been a problem "off and on." In fact, in addition to "2207" being a cursed number in Hawthorne, pink houses are also considered "unlucky" and tend to be problem houses, or so one long-time resident claims. Crappy-looking venetian blinds are often a clue, and this house had THAT. (Still does, as a matter of fact)
The address, now revealed to be 2223 Bryant Ave. N., is a rental with an absentee landlord who lives out-of-state. Word on the street is somebody got the contact info for the landlord and called him today, Christmas Day, to let him know what was up with his unsavory tenants. The police raid was news to him. He promised to look into the matter. We shall see. A letter from the neighborhood association will likely go out, judging by past practice.
The day after the police raid, a black male in his mid- to late-30s was seen with a hammer, trying to repair the door frame, which was apparently damaged when police entered with their search warrant.
Yeah...like the landlord was going to think that loose, nailed-back-together door frame was "normal wear and tear." Oh, gee, I guess the UPS guy bumped it and THE DOOR FRAME CAME COMPLETELY LOOSE, shrug, shrug, ingratiating smile.
On a tangential side note:
Did I ever tell you folks about the time I was an assistant landlord, and some college kids tried to conceal nail holes in a white plaster wall with TOOTHPASTE? I was all, like, "Huh, this wall smells MINTY FRESH."

Johnny no life, its people like you that do more harm than good to the community. To know the truth is to report the truth. How many times have you reached out to your neighbors or the people in your neighborhood? To pass judgement on any situation that your not involved in makes you an idiot .You say this is your neighborhood, what do you do to improve it? Sitting behind this damn computer reporting on issues you don't fully understand is not helping. Mistakes happen every day and crime is everywhere you go. So I'd suggest you try getting to know your neighbors, do something about the real crime, move to a different part of town where its no crime and the neighbors don't mind you spreading rumors or shut the hell up. Only GOD can judge not IDIOTS LIKE YOU.
You say you helped old people in small towns, well what about your neighbors? You are so quick to pass judgement on someone else! Can you tell us what goes on behind your lonely doors? Can you tell us why your divorced? Can you tell us how being mean and hateful towards your neighbors is helping your 11 year old son? Can you tell us what you really do o the computer when your not talking about issues you are not involved in? Let us judge you!

Feel free to "report the truth" if you think you know something about this police raid that wasn't in what I wrote. My gut tells me you're pretty close to it.
As for the rest, it doesn't merit a response.
Johnny, I'm just catching up on the story of this house and I wanted to let you know that anyone who cares about this neighborhood would see that there is nothing mean or hateful about what you say. The problems in your area are serious and can have devastating affects on residents and future residents that are so desperately needed. I appreciate the guts it takes for you and others to stand up for your neighborhood and to call the trouble out for what it is- dangerous and devastating. I honestly can't see anything in your writing that would match up with the accusations this anonymous coward is throwing. Keep up the good work, and don't stop pushing for the scum to leave your neighborhood, rather than you running away like everyone else. Bravo Johnny Northside!!
