Burglar's Ladder Re-Purposed For NoMi Revitalization...

Photo and blog post by John Hoff

JNS contributor "Hans" recently wrote a blog post about chasing off a would-be burglar in the Eco Village, and how the burglar left his ladder behind, click here.

Well, as fate would have it, I needed a ladder...

...because the ladder I had previously was a loaner, owned by an active and helpful citizen in the Jordan Neighborhood. So Hans told me I could have the "burglar ladder," since Hans didn't need the ladder and, really, it was too nice for aluminum scrap.

So now the "burglar ladder" is mine and will become yet another resource in the battle for neighborhood revitalization.

Here's a message for would-be burglars who think they can get away with something in the Hawthorne Eco-Village: next time, could you please try to commit a crime with a rototiller? I could use one of those. Thanks.

Oh good. Now you can get that awful sign litter that is just out the Hawkman's reach. Or, perhaps you can even use it to get a shoe off of a powerline.

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff I pictured.

And especially while I'm in Africa for a while, it would be quite reassuring to have someone taking down sign spam in Hawthorne (or throughout NoMi, for that matter).

Thanks a bunch, John!
