JNS Pdf Support Site is Full!

Post by the Hawthorne Hawkman, image from the Workfarce Blog.

In the midst of working on a new blog post, I ran across a frustrating phenomenon. the Johnny Northside pdf support site is full! No more data can currently be uploaded. Seeing as how Google (which operates blogspot and the pdf site) prides itself on the amount of data storage space available, maxing this out is no small feat. This is also the second time the Johnny Northside blog has maxed out its available space.

The pdf files in this case are essential to the blog post, so that post will have to wait until this is resolved. In all likelihood we will have to buy more space, so this is also an opportune time to remind readers that this blog is a volunteer effort and any donations through paypal or clicking on the ads to generate revenue are welcome in order to offset such costs.

But frankly, we're rather proud of the fact that the amount of information we strive to make available to our readers rises to the point where GOOGLE has issues handling it all.

(Do not click "read more.")

Would you consider giving those who donate a text link to their site on your blog as a contributor?

That decision is ultimately up to John. But would it be considered? Certainly. My personal opinion is that any blog with a prominent link to it from JNS should have some kind of connection to north Minneapolis. Beyond that, I'm open to suggestions on how to arrange things.

What does it cost to get more storage? I'd be happy to make a more modest donation, but I would have difficulty donating hundreds of dollars.

The next step up in data storage is $20/yr. The only reason I haven't made that purchase yet is because it's not clear from reviewing the account whether we need to purchase more data or just reallocate some of it. But even if we just need to reallocate some of it for now, it seems quite likely that at some point in 2010 we'll need to plunk down $20.

I'll match Ty's five on it, too.

Ok, these contributions now put the pressure on me (and John) to get this sorted out so that we can resume our normally scheduled blogging. Thanks everyone!

Finally catching up here after being out of town so long.

To Anonymous: I'm sure not going to accept money and then be obligated to post a link to some website for a pro-thug political candidate I don't support, or some lawyer who still thinks he's the vice chair of JACC, even though he's NOT. So posting a link for a website in return for a donation would be on a case-by-case basis, and certain entities don't even need to ask. You know. You know we're not on the same side.

To the folks offering to kick in money for data space: I think I just managed to buy more data space on Google for the PDF documents. We'll see if it works.
