More Info About Re-Offense Rates Of Level Three Sex Offenders...

Stock photo and blog post by John Hoff

Like processing dumpster dived fruit in a late 1970s-style juicer found in an alley, so do I wish to process the names and current addresses of Level Three sex offenders in North Minneapolis, bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Helpful sources behind the scenes continue to send information my way about Level Three Sex Offenders, including this recent Department of Corrections newsletter which contains info about how often these sickos re-offend, click here for a copy of the newsletter on my document support site.

While I appreciate this info, I continue to make no secret about what it is I really want: the current addresses of every Level Three sex offender in North Minneapolis.

One might wish to compare the info in this latest document with the info contained in this previous document I already wrote about, click here for a link. This latest document tells us that 24 percent of child molesters are in prison because they are guilty of a re-offense (a rate higher than reported in the previous document) and 79 percent of these offenses are committed against individuals below the age of 18.

Yes, but those re-offenses are not necessarily sex related offenses.
It is very difficult for ex-offenders to find housing and jobs. Especially sex offenders.
If you read the various reports (and not just the ones that show data you like), you will find that most of the offenses that sex offenders are sent back to prison for are non-sex related offenses.
While no one wants a lever 3 sex offenders as their neighbor, statistics show that they are far safer to have as a neighbor, then some thug gangbanger drug dealer who got out of the workhouse last month.

The nice little distinction between one offense and another is not a particularly strong point. Also, comparing the L3SOs to armed drug dealers is ANOTHER weak defense.

They are scum. They need to be somewhere, but NOT concentrated in a neighborhood struggling to make itself better.

A sex offender committing ANY offense at all, sex related or not, shows a willingness to break the law and disobey their parole or probation terms, period.

So who is to say that they will decide to obey the law and their probation terms when it comes to, oh gee, NOT PREYING ON CHILDREN?

If a person cannot find a job they will generally strike out at society. Jobs in NOMI are especially hard to find which makes the problem of reintegrating these L3SO's even harder. As a community we need to discover ways to ensure these citizens are productive so they do not reoffend.
