Fox 9 is reporting on a cocaine bust involving a resident of South Minneapolis, click here for article, but my sources and research say accused cocaine trafficker Houston Oliver is, in fact, a resident of North Minneapolis.
As reported by Fox 9, Oliver allegedly mailed 11 kilos of cocaine from Arizona to Minneapolis...
...but a confidential reliable informant tipped off police and the coke was intercepted. Both Houston Oliver and a guy named James Green were ultimately arrested.
An anonymous commenter and also a source told JNS blog to look into Houston Oliver's North Minneapolis residency. I was also told Houston might own a building at 1502 West Broadway which was granted to him by a quit claim deed.
Sure enough, Houston Oliver owns 1502 West Broadway, click here for property information. The online property listing does not show what type of deed transferred the real estate and that info remains unconfirmed. But the property information lists Houston's address as 4851 Dupont Avenue North. That same address is listed on the jail roster where Houston faces four drug charges and bond is listed at $100,000.
Incredibly, the roster says bond in that large amount was indeed posted.
The address at 4851 Dupont Ave. N. is a rental, but it is owned by somebody with the same surname as Oliver.
Checking MNCIS shows there is currently a lawsuit against Houston Oliver and some other parties by Charmaine Wahlstrom Schodde, who is involved in developing the old Butter Roll Bakery building on West Broadway. The lawsuit involves a contractual matter and is captioned as follows:
Charmaine Wahlstrom Schodde and David Schodde vs. Steven M. Burston and Houston Oliver, 27-CV-14-15169.
There are other lawsuits on MNCIS listing a "Houston Oliver," but I can't 100 percent confirm it's the same Houston Oliver. I checked "Houston Oliver" on the criminal side of MNCIS and was (admittedly) a bit surprised to find no previous criminal charges listed in the State of Minnesota. His mugshot does turn up in association with drug charges in Arizona, click here.
As for co-defendant James Green, he remains in jail charged with three drug offenses and bail is set at the same $100,000 though Green has not made bail. Green's address is listed as 1368 13th Ave. S NE.
Yes, I am also staring at that "S NE" address like a two-headed snake in a flashing neon-lit terrarium, and I can't make sense of it, either. I assume it's some kind of mistake.
Also, I am mystified why FOX 9 thinks these characters are from South Minneapolis but perhaps there is other information I have not seen. In any case, poor Houston...
HE HAS A PROBLEM.
