It was back in May of 2012 when, riding a wave of a post-Afghanistan binge blogging, I was writing about all the weekend gun crime arrests. At that time, I wrote about Chris Obrien Shaw using jail roster info and online courts info.
I didn't have the actual criminal complaint. But now I do. Click here.
More than a year later, Chris Obrian Shaw is sitting in jail. But here's the funny thing...
He hasn't been in jail this whole time. In fact, it appears Shaw was out of jail for a while but then picked up September 30 of this year. But now he's back in jail upon what appears to be an old charge, stemming from the alleged theft of a gun in July of 2012.
WHICH IS INTERESTING. Because that was AFTER my blog post in May of 2012. So Shaw was in jail in May of 2012 on a weapons charge. He got out of jail, obviously, but stole a gun in July of 2012.
Allegedly. Whatever.
Was he in jail after that? Who knows, but he was picked up September 30 of this year on the old gun charge and some other charges.
When people say we need more gun laws, I would point to somebody like Chris Obrian Shaw. We have plenty of laws. And we can't even manage to enforce the laws we have. We don't need more laws. We need more COPS working more HOURS.
On the criminal complaint, Shaw has no permanent address listed. Maybe the prosecutors and the jail people should talk to each other, because on the jail roster Shaw's address is listed as 324 25th Ave. N., a rental owned by Khamsene Ly of 4903 Crown Lane, Woodbury, Minnesota.
