and Criticism, and public safety exceptions, blog post by John
Glenn D. Smith, as I blogged previously, is accused of being involved in a shooting incident in the alley near 1826 Penn Ave. N. which shows every indication of being gang related. Nobody was killed in the incident though a 74-year-old male bystander was grazed in the face by a bullet. Smith is in jail on $200,000 bail, total, and charged with four weapons related felonies. There is videotape documenting at least part of the alley shooting incident so guess what? This guy is probably going away for a while.
Smith has documented his life prolifically on Facebook, where he has 1,651 followers. He has been on Facebook since 2010, so that would be since approximately the age 16 since his birthday is April 17, 1994 and he is currently just NINETEEN years old. (However, Smith has a "baby face" which makes him appear much younger)
It will take more than one blog post to reveal the trail of treasures Smith (a/k/a Chief Chuck So Iicey Smith, a/k/a Chief Chuck Got-Hoess Smith) has shared with the world. For the moment, I am ONLY going to comment upon the photos which explicitly include firearms, of which there are quite a few.
Let's start with the photo above. Look just above the left lower corner of the photo and you will see the tiny, pink shoe-shoe clad feet of a little girl...
Glen Smith is the guy holding the pistol and the bottle of booze though, to be perfectly fair, I will wager everybody in the group held the gun at least once and got a picture of themselves doing it. Here is another photo, below, from the same precise time frame.
Same group, same gun. Note that in the background a figure is visible who appears to be a small female but apparently not the same little girl with the pink shoes.
There's more. In fact, here's a montage...albeit not created by this blogger, but reproduced exactly as I found it on Glenn Smith's page.
This is quite an early photo of Smith, but that's him. Note this pistol is a revolver and it's flipped open to expose the cylinder. There don't appear to be any bullets in the cylinder.
From the context in which this photo is found and, given how many of Smith's pictures are posing self-portraits (the vast majority, to the point of narcissism) this photo is assumed to be one of Smith as well, even though for once he is showing a little bit of sense and not making himself identifiable in the photo before putting it on Facebook.
More photos are coming, however, JNS blog readers have been going to Glenn Smith's Facebook page (click here for the link, though it won't work unless you're on Facebook) and checking out his EXTENSIVE trove of candid photos of Northside gang life.
You really have to see it to believe it. Hopefully the jury in his trial will be allowed to see some of it as well.
