Incredible information is coming loose about the shooting of Johnathon J. Harris on Hillside Ave. North. I am being told by a source in a position to know on the night of the shooting police had the names of two suspects, only one of which was Demiteras Cooper, now sitting in jail for probable cause on a murder charge.
The night of the shooting there was a high speed chase in Brooklyn Park which may have been connected to the shooting and its aftermath; either a fleeing murder suspect or somebody chasing after a fleeing murder suspect, or somebody getting the hell out of Dodge. The car involved in the BP chase was stolen with Iowa license plates. Interestingly...
...a BOLO ("be on the lookout") following the Hillside Ave. N. shooting mentioned a car with either Iowa or Arizona plates.
Police involved in the incident reportedly believed it was connected to the Hillside Ave. N. shooting, but my source cautions me this could have been police speculating in the chaotic aftermath of a dramatic chase.
Brooklyn Park police "pitted" (used a PIT maneuver) on the fleeing car, causing it to roll three times. No shots were fired, but a suspect in the car reportedly had an existing gunshot wound. A suspect named Corjarah Gregory Warren was taken into custody and is in jail right now. (Click here for a mug shot of an earlier arrest) He was most likely the driver.
Warren's charges on the jail roster are fleeing a police officer, fleeing a police officer in a moving vehicle, and assault. The first two charges are Brooklyn Park PD, the last is Minneapolis PD, and he's being held on bond of $40,000.
Warren's address on the jail roster is listed as 658 Dayton, St. Paul, Minnesota. At present, I am unable to locate any MNCIS records on Warren but Mugshots.com hints there have been at least five previous arrests. Another site says he was arrested January 23 of this year on a charge of failing to pay cab fare. (Guess he has wheels now! Or, well, he HAD some wheels before Brooklyn Park did their thing, and God bless Brooklyn Park PD!) Arrested for driving without a valid license, allegedly, on 9/20/13. Two days later, arrested on a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
Though details are sketchy, only JNS blog appears to have any details right now, sketchy or otherwise. Mainstream media are advised to jump in the pool and play whenever you like, the water is nice!

Information I received tells me that "hold without bail" on the assault charge overrides the notation of $40,000 bail on the other charge, so Warren is effectively held without bail.

It's so odd that North Mpls. continues to suffer from this blight. In current context there is a x-country skier who just competed in the Sochi Olympics who lives in North Mpls. and the producer of tonight's closing ceremonies lives in NE Mpls., close enough. Not to mention the many others in North Mpls. who influence society in so many positive ways.
