asserted First Amendment public safety exception, blog post by John Hoff
Following up a rumor that a concert by rapper Young Dro had been cancelled tonight by the City of Minneapolis due to threats articulated in conversations posted on this blog (click here for the hottest thread in the history of this blog) JNS blog has confirmed the concert was canceled for public safety reasons.
I do not normally seek information under false pretenses but I'm going to admit I did exactly that tonight because I wanted, the info, I wanted it bad, and I was going to get it...
So I called up the concert venue, said "yo yo yo" three times in succession and then used Jedi mind tricks to obtain the information I wanted. Somebody who answered the phone said the "City of Minneapolis" canceled the concert because of concerns there would be violence. Furthermore, it was asserted "ten grand" had been lost because of this. I was also invited to go party at Hunan's at 3115 Cedar Ave. as an alternative to attending the Young Dro concert.
"Is Young Dro going to be there?" I asked, hopefully.
No. Young Dro would not be there. (Somewhat apologetic tone)
For the record, I have not confirmed the specific reason for the cancellation involved this blog or the anonymous conversations happening here in regard to the death of Tyrone Washington or the "Kobe Diss" and "(No) Competition" music videos which apparently make reference to the murder and (allegedly) disrespect the family of the victim. But the concern over these conversations seems, to deliberately use a double negative for expressive purposes, "not unlikely." Somebody told me the "Young Dro" concert was referenced in the conversation but I don't have time to look through 240 some comments to FIND that.
I will say The new chief of police made a difficult and unpopular call but deserves our support for stepping up to the plate. This city is tired of the murders and she probably prevented at least one by taking decisive action.
JNS blog calls upon respect members of the community such as religious and political leaders to broker peace between the two sides in this simmering conflict. Furthermore, I would suggest that bummy, self-seeking, self-appointed community leaders (you know exactly who you are, and so do we) stay the hell out of it.
From what I have read of Young Dro he is a successful musician who raps about, well, lots of songs about getting high. But tonight it may be there was a song much more compelling than anything by Young Dro, and it was this song right HERE...
Or maybe THIS one...

U know they guilty. Kibbie and gi erased they Facebook page.
So you say in the blog post that you have absolutely no proof that anything said in this blog was responsible for the concert being cancelled.
So your headline is absolutely FALSE then isn't it?
It is nothing more that your grandiose sense of self worth being reflected in a headline you wish was true.
I think the reference to Dro in your comments was something like, well I won't bother going to his upcoming event if this kind of animosity is brewing/if this kind of thing is happening at concerts now.
I think the word "apparently" conveys what is known and unknown with enough accuracy.
Furthermore, it may be that I know things I am not writing about but I am able to say, on the basis of those other facts, "apparently."

Its right in the first few comments on the st kobbie thread like I already told you earlier when I brought it to your attention.
Well, it would appear the police are right on top of it, so that's good.
I find it interesting that Young Dro's dress code prohibits hoodies and white tee shirts. That seems like it would really cut down on attendees.
I think they should have let the concert go on. They should have ran the plate of every car in the area. They could have installed extra cameras. Most important have every single minority or young officer or detective in full club attire, in the club. Imagine the arrest they could have made. If it going to happen in will be In the club or the streets of Nomi.
Besides having you own laws and rules, you "apparently" have your own dictionary.

ap·par·ent·ly
adverb \-lē\
—used to describe something that appears to be true based on what is known.
I'm just glad that everybody's Saturday night was ruined. Haha losers
Kudos to the Cops!
Lol and dro doesn't wear white tees and hoodies. The muthafucka dresses like Carlton from the fresh prince of bel-air..stop stereo typing bitch
Oan fuk ynt we was gonna get em at fro..1x for 19 #CrackCity Triple C'z
In regard to: "Oan fuk ynt" etcetera, could you please elaborate on that? You have an open mike, here. An open forum. The city is listening, the police are listing, and now these blog numbers have been pushed up to 8,000 readers daily. Say what you have to say, the city is listening. What does "fro" mean? Where is that?
Don't publish because it's pointless . He meant Oh an fuck young and thugging (ynt) we was going to get at them at the young dro (fro) concert. All the rest is just a 19 saying that they always use meaning do it 1 time for the 19..
Is this "Fro?" The "Christian rapper" named Fro?
http://wadeoradio.com/fro-changed-hustler-porn-addict-christian-rapper/
I reserve the right to publish a comment that says "don't publish because it's pointless." I reserve the right to publish "pointless" comments. Indeed, I am sure I do it with some regularity.
How is Young Dro "Fro?" I don't see how one is derived from the other.
I ment tho not fro..triple c'z #cheif crackcrazy..fuk da ban
In regard to "tho" (though) not "fro," thank you for making that clear. What else would you like to communicate? Also, if you have anything you want to send by email--screen shots or anything to make your points--feel free to email me that stuff.
Don't you think there is an endless cycle of violence here that needs to stop? I mean, there's dead on both sides. If the sides are equal in the number of dead, can it stop? Or is it not equal? How do you score it? What dead are on each side? There's so much we'd all like to know. Also...
I would be very interested in your response to this editorial about blood feuds and whether the feuds can stop, everybody write books and songs and become famous like the Hatfields and McCoys, but most of all can the blood feud stop?
http://adventuresofjohnnynorthside.blogspot.com/2013/09/jns-blog-editorial-is-there-blood-feud.html
It is a good thing this so call concert was cancelled. I am sure there would have been some hell raisers as usual, and as usual someone would have been shot. I mean some people just can't go to a concert and act like decent, civilized human beings now, can they?
I guess I'm an old fart, but think about how I go to First Avenue to see bands like Gary Numan, and the Psychedelic Furs, and not even have to worry about being shot. Times are a-changin', as some Minnesota guy said.
@ anon 2:12: There's no need to worry about getting shot at a normal concert. These events are not concerts, they are thug parties, and unless you're stupid, you won't be there. Musical performance has nothing to do with these events. I hope next time, they all just get into a huge mexican standoff and everybody shoots everybody else, and then I'll go in there and piss on every thug's dead carcass. 19 = homo crew
JNS blog abhors the comment above but has published it in a spirit of vigorous First Amendment commentary. JNS blog hopes the factions will work things out, stop the violence, and concerts of every sort of musical taste can take place without violence in our city or, for that matter, anywhere.
PLEASE STOP THE VIOLENCE!! WE DONT NEED ANYMORE MURDER CAPITALS .....PLEASE JUST STOP
I abhor your comments as well, Johnny! A "Young Dro" event is not a concert, its a thug convention. How is it not? It has nothing to do with the legitimate music scene we've always enjoyed in Minneapolis. These people who attend are not music enthusiasts, they are criminals and victimizers. They go there to get krunk, drink codeine-laced cough syrup and shoot each other. They make Minneapolis a shitty place to live and I wish they'd all go away by any means necessary. Including hilarious mexican standoffs.
Hodges is taking over and we will be MURDERAPOLIS again with this Sayles- Belton clone and a police chief that can't stand her.
Our only hope is that Harteau has the gumption to stand up to the next Belton. Gonna be a long, hot summer as the saying goes.
