and Criticism and public safety exceptions, blog post by
After the polls close but before Election Day is over, JNS blog will be publishing a list of what I believe are the Six Crime Families of North Minneapolis. The existence of The Six was discussed in the mayoral race by Don Samuels, mayoral candidate.
But one of the families, for sure, is the Gomez family. And here's the latest on Dashaunta Dmar Gomez, who has crime running through his blood so thick he recently managed to get himself arrested on a felony for sitting on a couch.
Click here for the criminal complaint.
Police and prosecutors allege...
...warrants were being executed on the 3300 block of Oliver Ave. N. for two males wanted in a string of armed robberies. When officers knocked on the door, Dashaunta Gomez answered and let the officers inside. (Hey, they had a warrant so they were coming inside anyway, a point on which JNS blog and Dashaunta Gomez would find themselves in complete agreement)
Gomez "immediately" sat on the couch in the living room.
Something about the way Gomez moved way too quickly for a seat on the cushion must have set off the Spidey sense of at least one police officers present, because he not only patted down young Gomez but also checked under the couch cushions. That's where officers found a pistol, which DNA linked to Gomez.
Since Gomez was on probation, mere possession of the pistol (loaded, BTW, with one in the chamber) would be a felony.
For EXTENSIVE writings here on JNS blog about the Gomez Crime Family, use the search function on this blog and the terms Gomez and Family. That should turn up most of the articles for you. It's election day and I have no time to share links, gotta make things happen in the blogosphere...
