God knows why, but mainstream media are reporting about a man shot in a Northside alley who has nothing more than a leg wound. It is unknown at this time if the reporting is merely a fluke, or if the mainstream media have some intention of reporting the many non-fatal shootings which occur in our neighborhood. The shooting took place on the 700 block of 21st Ave. North. They do not use the word "alley" but my source says it was in the alley, at 3 a.m.
A highly-placed source contacted JNS blog and reported the name of the shooting victim is Cody Lennell Taylor...

Discussion has been floating around on quasi-official channels which concerns Taylor, and some of it goes like this, and I'm paraphrasing except where you see quote marks:
Taylor recently moved to the Second Precinct. Clearly his intention wasn't to get away from crime in the Fourth Precinct since he was found shot in a piss-smelling alley at 3 in the morning; a time and place where no decent person would be, police and members of ambulance crews being the obvious exceptions to the rule.
Taylor was apparently on TRIPLE probation involving three different crimes, something that would NEVER happen in Hennepin County for more serious offenses. (Here, I assume the sarcasm font was being used though not properly designated with the words "sarcasm font")
His first probation was apparently a theft from a person which involved the time Cody "knocked a phone from a women's (sic) hand downtown and fled with it." Then second probation involved driving a stolen car and then fleeing on foot after he was stopped.
(Here, JNS blog wishes to point out Cody did the right thing by not fleeing IN THE VEHICLE and endangering others) The third probation was robbery. He grabbed a phone from a woman's hand downtown and fled with it. (Yes, I double checked to make sure I wasn't re-reading a piece of text incorrectly. Turns out Cody is a creature of habit. Allegedly)
Another incident involving Cody was especially heartwarming. (Sarcasm font) Cody went to Abbot Hospital to visit his newborn child, no doubt aware it is a positive thing for a father to be involved in a child's life. While at the hospital, he went to the staff area and stole cell phones from the purses of the staff, some of which were probably directly involved in delivering his baby.
(And I say "his baby" in the sense of not actually having access to a paternity test, and DEMANDING one)
This incident, currently pending in the system, may result in the rare and much-sought-after "quadruple" probation. Some facts of the incident were described in a recent article on MPR, "Judge gets paternal on convicted thief."
To all this JNS blog suggests...
Taylor wasn't up to anything good when he was in that alley.
I say charge him with loitering.
