There was no champagne handy, but we managed to toast with hot cocoa, which seemed appropriate given the weather. As of tonight, about 1/3 of 3101 6th St. N. is in a state that could only be described as "toothpicks." The rest is reportedly going to come down tomorrow, starting at 8 am.
Pictures, story to follow soon.

Why do you think tearing down all these houses is a good thing? The houses aren't the problem - it's the people that lived or squatted there. I hate to see some of these homes torn down when there are plenty of good people looking for affordable housing. I grew up in N Mpls, went to the old Jordan Jr. High, and currently am a realtor working to sell and rebuild North Mpls. Check out 2131 Irving to meet a great couple that I sold a home, too. I currently have at least 10 home sales going on in N Mpls. I'm trying to beat the demos! Have you ever looked at 2807 Emerson Ave N? This duplex is quite nice inside but can't be sold for anything but the lot bcz the city has decided to tear it down! I've had a buyer interested but the demo guy won't return our calls to rescue this home. What a shame!!! Charmaine Schodde www.FastMNSales.com
