"Leikas?" I asked, putting forward a surname which an anonymous blog commenter had posted on a thread.
Yes, the police official agreed, that was it. Liekas.
An internet search reveals a "Daniel Liekas" who killed a baby, click here for the story. This Daniel Liekas is identified by anther internet source as a "Minneapolis man." The name "Daniel" is one of the surnames listed by the commenter who left the names of Annshalike's siblings on a chat thread on this blog.
Same Guy? Or Another Brother On Parole?
At a recent meeting of the Hawthorne Safety Committee, a person affiliated with the criminal justice system said Annshalike Hamilton had a brother "on parole." It is unknown whether this is Daniel Liekas or another brother who has involvement with the criminal justice system. However, according to this official, "Catholic Charities" paid for the funeral of Annshalike Hamilton. This according to the brother. The one on parole.
A person who was at the funeral--who provided the photos above--described the ceremony as "vary beautiful" (sic) and "vary sad" (sic) and said there were "a whole lot of people there." I was urged to thank those who gave Annshalike such a beautiful funeral. I was urged not to take social network sites seriously because kids write "silly, dum (sic) off the wall stuff" on those sites.

Annshalike Hamilton's sister had a profile on the social network "Black Planet," where she used the name "chitownbooty21." The sister is identifiable because of a link from Annshalike's profile on Black Planet, and because the sister is clearly the same person who appears in Annshalike's photo bucket account, dressed in a blue and white striped shirt, identified as Annshalike's "sexii sista."
Like many of the profiles on Black Planet, chitownbooty21 has background music, which really must be heard to be fully experienced.

I know that Daniel was removed from June's home when he was younger because he molested his siblings. He was placed in foster care for a while.
Micheal Robinson is her other older brothers name and Anthony (boogie) just got released from jail on the ninth for Robbery.
These kids became a product of an enviroment that they grew up in. They had such a tough life growing up. I fell so bad for them.
Then Anthony (Boogie) must the the one on probation who I heard about at the meeting of the Hawthorne Public Safety Committee.
What is Anthony's last name? Who did he rob?
I have so much sympathy for the family, it appears that someone out there knows what going on. It is amazing what the kids or young adults are doing on the internet. Who's to say she did not meet someone on these social networking sites that lured her into the area and killed her.
I have a set of twin daughters and a young son who surf the net and I am right there seeing and reading what it is they are writing and who is writing. We have to make our children comfortable when they are talking to us and not intimidate them or they will turn to someone else for comfort.
Yes the kids may be a product of the environment they grew up in but did society fail them also, and if a young age the brother molested the other kids, why where were the parents and why did the kids remain in the home.
Regarding the internet...I was hoping somebody who knows Annshalike's passwords (to her Yahoo account, for example) might come forward and tell police. I don't know if the police have successfully gotten into her email accounts, etc. Some of her friends might know or have an idea what her password might be.
Maybe, because I spend so much time on the internet, I believe answers can be found on the internet...maybe it's just old-fashioned face-to-face interviews that will solve this, and no piece of info that resides on the internet. But I'm convinced whoever was involved in her demise CONTACTED HER SOMEHOW just before she disappeared. So that means either email or cell phone, or some kind of social networking site.
I tried sending an email to Annshalike's yahoo address, asking if a parent or police official was now in control of the account.
No luck.
Kind of strange...sending an email to a dead person's email account. Imagine the feeling you'd get if you saw a reply in your inbox.
Yes her email and other social networking sites could make a break in the case. Hopefully she shared those passwords with someone maybe her closest friend the one who stated she was the last to see her alive.
I desperately hope the killer is found.
My advice to the kids of todays society, is that if you know your friend has run away from home don't hide them, call the parent(s) and tell them where you last saw them or that you know where they are. One other comment I want to make is when kids are spending one too many nights at your house, it is obvious that something is going on, don't just let your kids friends come over or sleep over unless you speak with their guardian to get an OK.
How is ANY of this relevant (her siblings rap sheets). You know, I sent some info before her name was confirmed asking a no post. I was happy that some people cared about the identity. Then when her name was revealed, it was posted. Since then, instead of stories on this site being about the crime, its all turned into garbage about her internet sites. Now we're posting gossip about her family, who yes, has some troubled siblings. People should show some respect. My God, this is a family that needs privacy. Whatever problems they've had, I can personally attest they are some of the most LOVING people I know. This site should be called All The Leikas Familys Dirty Little Secrets.com. Disgusting, and not befitting of a person deceased. Please focus on the positives, like leads.
Marz, when you sent that information, you specifically said you wouldn't mind that stuff being posted in edited form AFTER her identity was revealed. I strictly abided by your wishes and didn't blog about that stuff until after her identity was revealed, like I said in that post.
Furthermore, I'm trying to keep interest in this case alive so it gets solved. So I basically post any scrap of information I can get unless it comes to me with a request NOT to post.
The victim's life and circumstances are indeed relevant.

Please, tell me it's OK to use the information on my blog. If the police aren't paying enough attention to that lead, my blog could raise the issue. Help me out, here. Help out Annshalike. Tell me it's OK to post with that info.
The media has already forgotten about Annshalike. It seems like you have to be white in order to make good news for the media. But Johnny Northside you are doing a tremendous job in keeping this case alive. Keep up the good work!
if the police need help so bad why havent they offered a reward. I saw there was a nother murder a couple weeks ago and there was a reward for any info. Theres plenty of people who would turn in there own mom for a nice chunk of money. so why no reward offered?
I'm not sure why there is no reward offered. In some cases, rewards come from family and friends of a victim, or various foundations, etc. The way life works, victims who come from backgrounds with money and connections are likely to generate rewards more quickly, because folks put up dough.
I mean, do you suppose somebody has information and they're sitting on it, waiting for a reward to be offered? That would be pretty cold.
See, personally, doing that would haunt me. I'd be thinking about that murdered girl and her unborn baby each night before I went to sleep, and how I knew something to get them justice if I only told the police, but I wasn't coming forward because of the desire for money.
I'd probably keep imagining her standing there at the foot of the bed, looking at me, asking me with her eyes why I wasn't coming forward...growing more and more angry with me for not coming forward.
Sure, a reward might be helpful. But so might the Biblical passage about how the blood of the innocent will cry out from the ground, and God will hear.
Anybody happen to know that passage by heart? Geez, where is Hawthorne Chair Peter Teachout when I need his extensive Bible knowledge?
