Backhoe of Doom Parked In Front Of Old Fire And Ice Restaurant, Building Is Not Expected To Survive The Year...

Photo, blog post by John Hoff

On October 22 this blog published news the old "Fire 'N' Ice" building on West Broadway would not survive the year; at least according to Dean Rose, owner of Broadway Liquor Outlet. My position is I will believe it when I see it, but right now I'm seeing a backhoe parked in front of the building radiating destructive eagerness.

With the old Butter Roll Bakery undergoing renovation, progress seems to be going gangbusters along West Broadway. But it is a case of two steps forward, one step back. The Hillside Chronicles blog, which has been more active of late, is reporting the Kentucky Fried Chicken on West Broadway became closed and boarded out of the blue.

Could it be there actually is a maximum saturation point for fried food joints on West Broadway?

As much as I don't like to see the loss of a business on West Broadway, the departure of this fast food chain may ultimately be a welcome development.

Convert KFC into a neat-o neighborhood bistro!!

Kfc bought by popeyes. Wishful thinking tho.

I cannot wait to see the new development at this location. That whole area feels like such a gaping, barren hole right now. It will be nice to put some life back into it!

KFC sold a whole slew of Minnesota and California franchises to Popeye's. I'm not sure if this one is part of that transaction or if it was just shut down.

Sad to see a business go, but it was possibly the worst Burger King off all time at one point in the early 1980s.

What kind of things made it the worst Burger King of all time?

It was there that I learned about how you get screwed over at the drive-in window YEARS before Joe Pecci's famous rant...

I just recall having to go back from our home for them to fix the order they so badly screwed up... time and time again.

And, since we were a BK family, going to the McDonald's wasn't an option, and the McDonald's on Lyndale wasn't open yet.

CONFIDENTIAL DO NOT POST Second of Dec 6. Another address associated with Callie Walker is 2914 Dupont Ave N. Pull it up: Note the buyer Callie Walker.
Pull up the Rental history and note Walker's address listed there.
Next go to a city document 2007 Tax Assesments. Go to page 45 and look at what is listed for 2914 Dupont. Callie Walker and just who could "Eric Mahkmoud" be???
Additional link with picture and a few more details.

I can't PROVE that all these Callie Walkers are the same person, but I think it just might be possible. What terrible outcomes for these two properties. Two holes in the ground. Coming soon part 3 Lakesha Mahmoud and her real estate history.
Confirm receipt of parts one and two by posting something like spam about diet foods rejected on this thread.
