Authorities have released the name of a murder suspect in the first homicide of 2013, which took place at 2907 Russell Ave. N.
The victim was named Ever R. Gonzales-Canales. The suspect is Mauricio Antonio Orochera, DOB 7/13/71, and he has a very minor criminal record, as follows...
He's been convicted of being in a park after hours, not having proof of insurance, and disorderly conduct. He was charged with failing to obey a traffic signal and fifth degree domestic assault, but those charges were dismissed.
Police are using the phrase "repeatedly stabbed" to describe what Orochera is accused of doing.
Orochera's address on the jail roster is the same as the victim, 2907 Russell Ave. N. He is currently being held on a million dollars bail and has a hearing today at 1:30 PM.
