A local television station is reporting there was a shooting yesterday at "Penn and West Broadway. JNS blog was on the ground near there and thought the crime scene tape seemed to be surrounding an area all around the entrance to Olympic Cafe Plus, usually referred to as Olympic Cafe Two by local residents.
The tape remained up for several hours and police were at the scene as late as midnight, leading Northsiders to believe a fatality or serious injury was involved. There was also a homicide on Ilion Ave. N. last night. JNS blog doesn't have the details, yet, but an examination of the jail roster would lead me to believe the woman has not yet been charged and it is possible she's not in jail.

Is it a homicide? Can anybody give an eyewitness account? A name? Something to confirm this was a homicide?
I just assume it was a homicide because it was taped off for so long and a washdown was needed. I hope I'm mistaken.

Officers were flagged down re: a shooting & located V1/male, 21 yrs, lying in front of the above address. V1 had blood on his shirt & was also bleeding from his mouth. OT1/male, 50 yrs, stated he is V1’s father & stated he (V1) had been shot. OT1 stated he didn’t see who shot V1, but the shooters were across the street in front of the Olympic Café. OT2/male, 22 yrs, stated he is V1’s friend & didn’t know who shot at them & hit V1. A few minutes later, OT2 stated he felt it was a gang or gangs responsible for the shooting. V1 was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
