Comment and Criticism, blog post by John Hoff
I have not learned his legal name, but JNS blog has confirmed from a reliable source that a Facebook user named "Low'end Savage" is the young man shot on the No. 19 bus October 25.
Click here for Star Tribune story.
The No. 19 is plagued by violence and it's hard to keep all the incidents straight. This particular incident happened near 17th and Penn and is NOT the incident which happened at 26th and Penn and claimed the life of Drew "The Chef" Billingsley, click here for JNS blog coverage of THAT...
This much is known about the young man who goes by Low'end Savage on Facebook. He is related to members of the Powell family, one of half a dozen troubled surnames in North Minneapolis who account for a disproportionate share of crime but of course also fall victim to crime in disproportionate ways. However, Low'end Savages does not actually have the last name "Powell."
Word is the young man is paralyzed from the neck down and the paralysis may be permanent. Somebody is posting a lot of stuff on his Facebook page using his account, including photos and videos of hospital visits by friends and family who have been projecting hope and good spirits and more than once using the phrase "heart of a lion" to describe Low'end Savage, the shooting victim.
I have not been able to get any reliable information about whether the shooter was arrested or if his identity is known or alleged. On Facebook there are a lot of "hand signs" being thrown by friends of the victim including the infamous "pointing like a gun" or maybe it's "L for Lowend" but in a politically correct post-Pointergate world nobody is supposed to assume anything because of THAT.
Examples are too numerous to share and I wouldn't want anybody feeling left out. JNS blog continues to have its ear to the ground in regard to this October 25 shooting on "Bloody No. 19."
