Well, this just keeps happening. Recently, I found a guy on the jail roster charged with murder (or attempted murder) named Deandre Craig. I was unable to turn up any information from other media about details of the charges against Craig.
Tonight, looking further on the jail roster, I found a guy named Marshuan Trenell Williams, ALSO charged with murder (or attempted murder) and, once again, I was unable to find any media reporting on the charges. No, the charges do not appear to be from one related incident, just two SIMILAR incidents.
You would think...
...murder (or attempted murder) charges would stir media attention beyond one feisty neighborhood blog but, unfortunately, that's how common murder (and ATTEMPTED murder) is in my troubled neighborhood.
Why do I keep singing this "murder-or-attempted-murder" refrain? Because I'm aware of a quirk in the jail roster where attempted murder charges sometimes appear as "Murder, Most Foul."
Or something like that.
Here's how the charges against Williams appear on the roster:
The other thing I know about Williams is the jail roster lists his home address as 1011 Humboldt Ave. North.
It's not the first time that address has been mentioned on this blog. In an abbreviated "jail roster nuggets" story it was listed as the address of a guy named David Anthony Tuinder.
Troublesome addresses have a tendency to keep right on being troubled, year after year. These rental properties are the gift that keeps on giving, in a coal-in-your-neighborhood-stocking kind of way.
JNS blog hopes to obtain the criminal complaint against Mr. Williams and learn more detail about these charges.
In the meantime, mainstream media should jump in any time they feel comfortable and update the public on all these murder (and attempted murder) charges.
