Dear Hook, WTF??!!??
Cell phone images and blog post by Nomi Passenger
The other day the dumpster at Hook Fish & Chicken, corner of Fremont and Wbro, was piled high. It caught my attention. Today, four days later, the dumpster is spilling over and piling up on the ground.
To this I say Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
What gives, Hook? Can't afford your Allied Waste service anymore? This would never fly in Edina, Plymouth, or Golden Valley.
Readers, I implore you, take a moment and give a call to Hook Fish & Chicken. Ask for the manager. Tell them you don't appreciate them literally trashing up our neighborhood and we won't sit back and let them do so. 612-521-3333.
While you're at it, give a call to Allied Waste and tell them we don't appreciate them allowing trash to accumulate in their dumpster either. Terrible advertising for their business. 952-941-5174.

gross.
They use so much grease at that place it can make your skin break out to look at the exterior of the building for too long. Hooks is the epitome of everything that is wrong with most of the eating establishments on West Broadway.
I hope they get rid of it today. Probably stinks pretty bad after getting rained on, and not the warmth.
If they want to treat the neighborhood like the third world, we should treat their garbage as they do in the third world. Light a match!

Here is an article about some people that actually made a difference in their community:
http://www.startribune.com/local/minneapolis/151266015.html
All you (JNS) do is blog about irrelevent arrests, and complain about petty annoyances.
Let us know when you really make a difference like these people.
All your blogging is just swagger and bluff. Easy to sit on your ass and blog, while really community revitalizers actually make the community better for their neighbors.
How about you make some real change besides taking down spam signs.
JNS=all talk, no neighborhood improvement.
Swagger: intransitive verb. 1. : to conduct oneself in an arrogant or superciliously pompous manner.
did you call 311?
Of course I called 3-1-1. Actually I emailed them. Including the trashy pictures. Here's the reponse I got:
Megan,
I was out on Friday 5/11 and spoke to an employee, the owner was not in, and told them the trash needed to be picked up by a waste management company immediately and that they needed to clean up the lot as well. I left a voicemail to the owner as well and if there is no resolve to this issue within the next 3 days they will be cited, and keep getting cited until the issue is resolved. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns at the information listed below.
Thank you,

Any my reply back to her was "It's Monday (4 days later) and it's still like that, if not worse with more trash"
You deliberately take a photo from way far away to hide the fact that they are the victims of illegal dumping. Which is pretty common on the north side.
I wouldn't be surprised if you guys dump your trash there just to make-up a blog story.
No, I think she took the photo from far away because of the SMELL.
Illegal dumping or not, they have to take care of it. This sat like this for days before I turned around, went back, snapped a photo and wrote to 3-1-1 and posted the story here for others to call Hook and tell them how we won't accept this crap in our neighborhood (do you think they'd do this in Edina?)
So I don't care if it WAS illegal dumping, take care of the trash.
And shame on Allied Waste for allowing their logo to be advertised under such a heap of disgustingness. Sure makes me want to call them up and do business with them. /sarcasm font
Here's a little "illegal dump" I made just for you, commenter at 12:05 PM.
((((((())))))))
If a Troll shits in the woods and I delete it before John even gets a chance to read it, does it still stink?
Oh, well, there you might have "proof" that I don't exactly approve all comments, now do I?
