There was word of an eviction hearing on August 13. According to a source I will not name, the bank and the mortgage company (which each arguably have responsibility for the house at 3024 6th St. N.) are "pointing fingers at each other" like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Foreclosure, both entities saying the OTHER entity would be responsible for the presence of a tenant/squatter lingering on the property past the date of foreclosure and redemption...an unsavory individual who happens to be a Level 3 Sex Offender who was recently caught lying about his past to secure a job as a responsible commercial driver.
According to another source, neighborhood chair Peter Teachout, some days ago a workman was seen going to the door of 3024 and changing the locks. However, we don't have definitive word of what is going on there.
As of this moment, Junaid Maalik is listed on the Department of Corrections website as residing on the 3000 block of 6th Street North. But given the fact there was an eviction hearing on August 13 which Junaid had little hope of winning...and given the fact the locks on the front door were reliably reported as being changed shortly after that hearing...I doubt very much if Junaid legally resides at 3024 6th Street North.
What it looks like is Junaid is somewhere else. But where? The Minnesota Department of Corrections doesn't seem to know or, perhaps, doesn't care enough to keep the public informed by updating its website. (Link to website will be posted another time. ARG, I AM NOT FOND OF MAC COMPUTERS, NOT EVEN THE ONE I OWN)

Call the US Marshall's office. They are prioritizing EVERY complaint about ANY registered sex offender violations, and WILL expend the resources to find out if someone is compliant or not.
If the offender is NOT living at his place, rest assured they will be MOST happy to give him a place at THEIR digs...behind bars!

Do you have a specific number to call and a specific person I should talk to? I've already gotten the brush off from the person most responsible for Junaid Maalik, his supervisor/case worker/whatever. I find it hard to believe somebody at the U.S. Marshall's office is eager to do something.
