Qshawn Oneal Lucas Arrested On Friday, July 19, And Charged With Murder, Held On A Million Dollar Bail (NOT NORTH MINNEAPOLIS RELATED)

Creative stock photo, blog post by John Hoff

JNS blog has been trying to determine the identity of the individual charged with killing DeShaun Guilmant. The only information I had, from a media report, is the homicide took place July 19 and an individual had been arrested.

Currently, there is only one person in the Hennepin County Jail who is likely to be the individual involved in the shooting...

(ADDENDUM, 9:04 AM, he is apparently sought on a different homicide according to a media report found by a reader and brought to my attention, click here for that media report)

Qshawn Oneal Lucas was arrested by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department on July 19 at around 6 PM. For some reason he was charged by the Minneapolis Park Police. He is charged with Second Degree Murder, not premeditated, and Assault, First Degree, great bodily harm. He is held on A MILLION DOLLARS BAIL.

There is, of course, the possibility of a coincidence and Lucas might be charged with murdering, gee, SOMEBODY ELSE.

(ADDENDUM, 9:05, More than a possibility, that's what happened)

JNS blog will continue to dig into the matter and share what I learn. If anybody else has additional info, feel free to share in comments.

people around the neighborhood told me that the dude that was killed was robbing the man in custody. None of that has made it to the media from what I have seen.

According to this story
Qshawn Oneal Lucas was sought as one of three charged in a stabbing at Minnehaha Regional Park on July 11 at 2:30 AM.

...proving once again that nothing good happens after 2:00 AM...

Not north Minneapolis related but since the guy is black this blog will make an exception. You ARE consistent my friend.

The reason I wrote about it was because the criminal complaint came into my hands and nobody else had written about it so I wasn't going to waste all that good digging and research and NOT publish it. I was lookign for a different guy arrested for a different murder and July 19 was the commonality which led me down this path.

I would have written about him no matter what color he is. But just keeping telling yourself otherwise, since you can't be convinced otherwise.
