The Minnesota DOC hasn't updated its website as of this moment to reflect the fact Octavius Riddley is no longer a wanted fugitive, but was taken into custody on August 17. Riddley has been convicted of selling cocaine. Presumably he became a fugitive by failing to abide by the conditions of his release.
On the jail roster, Riddley's address is listed as 1911 Thomas Ave. N., a homestead owned by somebody with the same surname.
It is Riddley's bad luck to be featured here in a blog post because...
...when I look through the jail roster, I often come upon individuals who have North Minneapolis addresses but are listed as a "MN DOC HOLD," meaning they are wanted by the prison system and are probably returning there. In those instances, their mug shots are easy to find.
So, well, heck...
It occurs to me that I can get an address, a mug shot, and a conviction associated with that person all in one fell swoop. That's the kind of information needed by the neighborhood revitalization movement. We need to know who the felons are, what they look like, and where exactly they claim to be living.
So welcome, Octavius Riddley.
Welcome to my new hot blog trend.
