Things were quiet for a while after the massive police raid (click here) but there was more trouble with police the night of Tuesday, November 18 or early morning on Wednesday, November 19...
A good citizen who keeps everybody informed about 2207 6th St. N. reports by email that "a couple of squads approached this place last night with their lights off, parked a few houses away, and then four officers were seen going into the house." (The photo above is not from that incident, but the previous raid)
The house at 2207 6th St. N. continues to show the "bad apple" pattern, where a single rotten property causes problems for good people all around. Fortunately, citizens are banding together and putting a stop to this nonsense. North Minneapolis is turning around, though it is a struggle, and often enough the focus of that struggle is 2207 6th St. N.

We were all wondering about those squads and officers going into the house, but I later learned from our CCP/Save person this was the probation folks paying them a surprise visit. Didn't hear anything about how that went, but at least they're staying on top of this place.
Just a few days before the visit, I did see the 16 year old who lives here (the one with 22 arrests) selling outside the house again. I reported that to Safe, so maybe that's why they got the visit.
Forgot to say how taking this house out of service has completely changed our block and probably surrounding blocks. I know there's still some dealing on 22nd and Lyndale, but it's 99.99% gone from 6th Street. Just goes to show how a neighborhood can appear as a lost cause, but you take out the main offending property and all the crap goes with it. We predicted this and it looks like it happened.
Yes, good for 6th Street. But I was on 22nd and Lyndale today, and they were as thick as flies on...well, a substance that would attract flies.
