His Facebook profile doesn't contain an overwhelming amount of "thug life" photos. It seems like mostly family images, including a number of small children who will not be pictured here. But Cordell Q. Dalton, who died in the street at Sheridan and 8th Ave. N., projected an image of being "in the game" to some degree.
In the picture above...
...he holds banded together money and pretends he is going to bite into it like a Big Mac. Only an hour ago somebody went to Dalton's Facebook page and wrote "R.I.P. my nigga" as a comment on this image.
When he died, Dalton had 403 Facebook friends. Some are already displaying images of him prominently on their profiles. A couple of his friends are "Moes," leading me to believe Dalton is the latest casualty in a difficult-to-decipher gang war which (at least at one point) seemed to involve a struggle between Y.N.T. versus Skitz Squad. A suspect known as "Funny Moe" was involved in the feud, and the nickname "Moe" appears to lead to interesting places, click here for further explanation.
Some of Dalton's Facebook "likes" included four movies. One was a "gangsta" movie called Paid In Full and then thee movies with the word "Friday" in the title. His only activity listed was "shooting dice." His only interest was "money."
He liked a Facebook page called "She gotta booty" which states AS YOU KNOW THE ORIGINAL EXPOSE BOOTY PAGE WAS SHUT DOWN. THERE ARE A LOT OF IMPOSTOR (sic) PAGES SURFACING ON FACEBOOK. THEY ARE NOT NOR EVER WILL BE EXPOSE BOOTY. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL EXPOSE BOOTY.
He also liked a page called FINE DIMEZ which could be fairly described as nothing but beautiful, half naked black women in provocative poses.
Turning once again to the movie "Paid In Full," it is basically a "rise to the top of the drug dealing hierarchy" story. The plot is littered with bodies and betrayals. And this is the movie Dalton placed at the front of his movie list.
It seems the death of Cordell Q. Dalton may be an unfortunate case of life imitating art.
