The sentence was at the high end of the high end of the sentencing possibilities, and reflected the impact on the victims plus the extreme degree of cunning, calculation and betrayal of trust required to pull off the 18 felony counts.
No family member stood to speak in Maxwell's defense--though a few were present in the court room--but three victims made moving, detailed impact statements to Judge Regina Chu on the 10th Floor of the Hennepin County Government Building.

Hi, I was at the sentencing today. I was there to "observe" for a different reason, however it was a long process until 1pm. Only one thing I can say; You know how many friends come to support you when your in trouble with the law..."NONE".

Well, Jerry McAfee DID come to support Maximum Maxwell during the trial. McAfee and his church were knee-deep in real estate deals with Maxwell and even started their own partnership called Residential Opportunities for Ordinary Families (ROOF).
Now THAT'S a true friend - one who probably doesn't want a cohort to sing in sing-sing.

There are some black men that are tired of people like Maxwell destroying the community with his criminal behavior, and living up to the misconstrued sterotype. But then again, I notice that there is no criticism when there are discussion about Pete the Pediphile...
I guess there will always be thug-huggers.

One has to wonder why some nut would even mention that Larry Maxwell is black. I mean can't we just for once all agree that the guy deserved what he got?
