JNS BLOG EXCLUSIVE: "Janky" Handgun Shooter Ike Wilson, Jr. Is Back In Jail...

Creative stock photo illustrating the concept of "janky," blog post by John Hoff

Some months ago Ike Wilson, Jr., achieved lasting fame in the mainstream media and this blog as the "janky" handgun shooter who accidentally killed Jason Youngmark at a backyard barbeque.

The story of what happened is told in a previous blog post, click here, but in summary: Ike Wilson is a sex offender but there he was at the barbeque, interested in buying a weapon in the possession of Jason Youngmark. The handgun was messed up (the word used was "janky") but in the desperate, dirty, low-end world inhabited by people like Wilson, it had value and he was interested. But the weapon went off and killed Youngmark.

(ADDENDUM, OCTOBER 2: Let it be perfectly clear this is the story being told by WILSON. Obviously, Youngmark isn't here to tell his side of the story)

Subsequently, Wilson was released on bail, click here.

Now Wilson is back in jail...

Wilson, who has no middle name and whose birthday is 2/6/83 (yup, it's the same guy) lists his current address as 5640 East River Road, Fridley, Minnesota. He was booked at 6 AM on September 27. The most recent charge appears to be aggravated robbery, and for that he's being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

The other stuff listed might be the old charges which are coming up again, but it's a pretty impressive list.

1/1 AGGRAVATED ROBBERY BKLYN CTR PD PROBABLE CAUSE PROB CAUSE FORMALLY CHARGED $200,000 BAIL REVISED/DC 10/1/2012..13:30 DOWNTOWN Address

4/2 POSSESS PISTOL/ASSAULT WEAPON-CONVICTION OR ADJUDICATED DELINQUENT FOR CRIME OF VIOLENCE MINNEAPOLIS PD BENCH WARRANT FELONY $0 10/1/2012..13:30 DOWNTOWN Address

In the opinion of this blogger, Wilson should have never been let go or his posted bond should have been astronomical. And I say this NOT because of the shooting, which seems to be a tragic accident. I say this because the man was attempting to buy a gun in a desperate deal in a stairwell, and so what was he likely PLANNING?

Um, maybe aggravated robbery? The very thing he's charged with now?

Lock this guy away FOREVER and please, make sure the lock on the cell isn't all "janky."

Gotta hand it to you, JN.
You show passion. But passion without fact checking is in itself "Janky".

Your readers should know I am alive and well. It was in fact my brother who was killed. His name IS Jason Adonis Youngmark.

The felon you speak of was not trying to buy a gun and my brother was not selling any firearms.
Ike lied to the cops, just as sure as he was hell-bent on committing more crimes.

I was at his hearing yesterday and they just raised his bail...again.
Smaller amount with conditions, larger without.
The courts want money and dont give a shit about public safety.

You can verify my info you want to.

I have corrected accordingly. My profuse apologies for this error.

That wasn't a lack of fact checking, that was simple error while writing the story. It should be noted that you yourself were helpful in drawing this incarceration to my attention so I could write about it.

I don't think the courts don't give a shit about public safety. I think the system is simply overwhelmed. If the state of Minnesota, as a whole, wanted to wipe out the horrible crime and social conditions in North MInneapolis, I believe it could be done. But our district only generates so much in tax revenue, and we only get so much back.

In regard to what the felon of which I speak was doing, it should be clear this is the story being told by the felon. Youngmark isn't hear to tell his side of it. But I will go back and throw in an "according to" and/or a "reportedly" or whatever to make sure this is a story being told by IKE WILSON.

If it's any comfort to you, I will be happy to keep publishing what is happening with this guy Ike as it happens. Keep kicking the info my way. I don't know if the other media give a damn, but I do.

Wow this is amazing, Ike and some of his lackies tried to make a home visit to me in north Minneapolis a few weeks back I ended up pushing his punk ass out of a window and esaping with my life. I hope I have the opportunity to put this piece of shit away for life. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother I wish this maggot would of been off the streets before.

I was at the BBQ. Jason was not selling a firearm, he was in fact doing the opposite, telling them to stop playing with it. They knew it was jammed, but continued to try and fire it. Alcohol was involved (not with Jason who I've known for YEARS) Anyhow. The saddest thing was he was trying to reason with the two people involved in the gunplay. He went to his truck to get one last cigarette before he went home to his wife and children... Unfortunately he never made it up the stairway... That day was the saddest of my life.
