Photos By John Hoff
Here are more images from last night's not-so-surprising fire at 3020 6th St. N., the former crack house which was recently evacuated and boarded.
In the top photo...
My 12-year-old son, Alex, watches the work of the firemen. In the second photo, the patriarch and matriarch of the Hmong family who live next door watch with concern.
In the third photo, a ladder unit extends to the third floor. Even many minutes after the firemen arrived, there were blasts of steam from the house as (apparently) pockets of fire were hit by water. In the next photo, my son watches the firemen with open admiration.
Second to last photo, some of MFD's finest. The very last photo--which was sort of taken by accident--shows the "beverage table" where thirsty firemen can refresh themselves. What a great idea!
