Word comes of a new community garden being planned south of Northend Hardware Store...
Hello Everyone!
On Saturday, March 6, we will be having our first meeting for the Northend Community Garden. The garden (which is in its first year!) will be located on the 3100 Block of Penn Avenue, just South of Lowry, south of the Northend Hardware Store. Components of the garden will include a 10-foot communally gardened flower garden at the front of the property, a large communally cared for vegetable garden in the center (from which we will donate produce) and roughly 24 individual lots, which members will agree to care for using organic practices.
Space is limited and many people have already expressed interest in a plot, so please email us soon if you are interested in gardening with us this summer. At the March 6 meeting we will discuss opportunities for community involvement, guidelines and membership agreements for the individual plots, general information regarding the layout and plan for the garden, as well as asking for your ideas and wishes for the coming season. Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP so we have a general idea of how many people are coming.
Bring a friend, tell a neighbor, and help spread the word!
When: March 6, 10am
Where: Folwell Park Building
Looking forward to meeting our Northside Neighbors!
