Yet Another Update On The Poor Widdle Sex Offender

There was a meeting a few days ago at City Hall regarding problem properties in the Eco-Village. Best not to spill ALL the details, though the pastry was--mwuh!!!!--excellent. But in regard to the house where Level 3 Sex Offender Junaid Maalik resided...

Here is the word straight from the agenda: The property has gone through foreclosure and the redemption period expired in early July, 2008. The property management company hired by the lender posted a notice to vacate which expired August 29, 2008. The property was NOT vacated so the next step is to go through the eviction process.

The eviction hearing is scheduled for September 16, 2008. At that time a Writ of Recovery is filed which leads to an eviction on 9/23 at the earliest, if necessary. The foreclosing attorney handles everything through filing a Writ of Recovery. The listing agent takes over after the hearing and arranges for the Sheriff to come out to the property and do the forced eviction, again 9/23 at the earliest. The agent then changes the locks, etc., and secures the property.

HOWEVER, here's a new twist. The sex offender website now lists Junaid Maalik as living on the 2800 Block of 14th Ave. S. There are people coming and going from 3024 6th St. N. It's unknown who these people are. One assumes they got word from their friend, Junaid, that 3024 was a place to hang for several days or a couple weeks until they were forced to leave.
