Photo By John Hoff, September 2As the giant earth balloon was inflated on the State Capitol grounds on September 2, I was reminded of the famous "earth rise" photo taken by one of the Apollo astronauts.
Sigh. The promises of my childhood--space travel as a common occurrence--are unfilled. But I have lived long enough to see an "earth rise."
