Secret Service On The Lookout For Missing JACC Blackberry?

Photos By John Hoff

Hawthorne Housing Director Jeff Skrenes, who met HUD Secretary Donovan yesterday in Jordan's Cottage Park area, related an interesting little anecdote involving Donovan's security detail...

Jeff was standing not very far from Secretary Donovan, fooling around with a camera and Blackberry in his pocket. One of the security detail--one presumes the guy might be Secret Service--asked Jeff what was in his pocket. Cooperatively, Jeff explained he had a camera and a Blackberry, which seemed to be a satisfactory answer.

(Tongue-in-cheek comment alert)

Jeff had to wonder if maybe the Secret Service was now involved in finding, um, certain missing Blackberries in the Jordan Neighborhood.

Let's hope the feds can crack the cold, cold case of JACC property missing since January!

In the photo above, Jeff gets into a "flex off" with city employee Jill Keiner in the newly-remodeled Jordan Community Garden. I should note Keiner was working so hard planting flowers that she not only got her hands dirty, but also her KNEES. Now that's dedication by a public servant.
