Here's an example of the "Hawthorne Effect," where the process of observing the process changes the process being observed. Also an example of a "feedback loop" from chaos theory, a subject of fascination with me...
One of the folks who added comments to this blog talked about how much they loathe these illegal signs, which DO NOT BELONG ON UTILITY POLES. That person takes it upon himself to uphold the laws of the city, and just RIP DOWN THE SIGNS.
I wasn't really conscious of the signs before I read that, but now I notice these annoying signs. I won't stop for the signs, honestly, but if I'm walking up to a house to call 311 and I notice one of the signs, I have my little hammer and it takes nails out as good as it puts 'em in.
Rip, rip, crash. Another city ordinance upheld by good citizenship.
Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a writer who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to North Minneapolis, (NoMi) to help with a process of turning a rapidly revitalizing neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. I am here to be near my child. From 02/08 to 06/15 this blog pushed free speech to the envelope, so others could take heart and speak unafraid. Email me at hoffjohnw@gmail.com

Johnny - sorry I didn't clarify - it's a "she" who takes those illegal signs down with a passion!
Duly noted! Feel free to submit more commentary about your doings, email me pictures, etc. What's important is not that I do this, or you do this, but that we get PLENTY of people doing this by having this kind of public discussion.
