Progress At The Apartment Complex of Anarchy (Goodbye To Old School Film)

It wasn't the new "management" company which got the hideous back yard of 3101 6th Street North cleaned up...

After applying for a rental license literally at the last minute, a day or two later the piles of garbage were still in the back yard despite the official designation of "under new management." Some "management!" They can't even manage to pick up litter which, as previous pictures show, is something even small children can manage quite well.

Thus the new management company--whoever they may be, and I'm scared to find out--apparently had neither the resources nor the power of persuasion with tenants to get the mess cleaned up on the exterior of that property. (And, though it looked terrible, it's not like it was an impossibly huge mess, nothing a few hours of honest work wouldn't have solved)

As it turned out, the "Sanitation Special Forces" showed up and did the dirty job instead of the people actually RESPONSIBLE for 3101 6th Street North.

This was yesterday. It happened while I was with Chris, the reporter from the online magazine. So that was kind of cool, because Chris was there to witness some progress actually taking place.

In any case....

We who are trying to make Hawthorne a better neighborhood, particularly in the area of the Eco-Village, certainly don't need more of these dubious fly-by-night slumlord management companies who have already let 3101 6th Street North and 3119 4th Street North turn into dens of drug dealing. Reportedly, 3101 is already ripped up inside. What is left to manage? I say manage a quick demolition.

Sigh. I love the way the camera flash lit up those reflective strips on the truck. Will my new digital film do the same thing?
